Sharing in Sorrow

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you all are enjoying your April, can't believe it is almost over!  I'm back in Minneapolis again and of course they are calling for snow again tonight!  I seriously think that is the way Minnesota greets me when I come up here.  At least the snow doesn't last long and warmer weather is definitely on its way!

I'd like to share with you a very simple but nice Sympathy card. These are one kind of cards that I hate to make but yet, unfortunately, we seem to need the most. I used "Simply Sympathy" stamp set along with the "tranquil tree" die.

The paper collection is We R Memory Keepers, "Country Livin'". Thank you for stopping by and checking out my card.

Blessings and Hope...
Misty

Sea-ing you makes me Smile!

Hi everyone!
My name is Laura, and I am so excited to be here on behalf of Whimsie Doodles to share a little inspiration using the new Seas the Day stamp set.

I set out to make a clean and simple card using the cute crab image from the set...

I started by masking a circle, and sponging it with yellow and oranges inks to create a sun. Then, I used a few different shades of blue Distress Inks to create the ocean and sky. The little crab is colored with Copics and popped up on a scrap of torn kraft cardstock.

Did Someone Say Cake?

AJVD, birthday, birthday icons, Becky Schultea, Kecia Waters, Copic

Last week, I told you I would be back with another birthday card featuring the AJVD's "Birthday Icons" by Becky Schultea.  You can never have enough birthday cards.  And really, when you think of it, you can never have enough cake, LOL!  Make mine vanilla cake, please.

Card Recipe:
  1. Stamp the cake image from AJVD's "Birthday Icons by Becky Schultea" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  Color with Copic markers.
  2. Stamp the sentiment, also from AJVD's "Birthday Icons by Becky Schultea" with Versafine Onyx Black.
  3. Along the top of the X-Press It cardstock, adhere a strip of patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs.
  4. Make a bow AJVD's "3D{Die} Bow" from patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs.  Add a clear pink button and Baker's Twine for the finishing touches.

My Favorite Peep with Lisa Lara

Hi. Lisa Lara here with a fun Easter card for you, and tips on how I made it.
Here is how I made my inside to tie in with the front of my card.

Here's is how I made my faux wood panels for my Easter basket.
I used the the three browns below from light to dark.  Just put ink pad directly to paper at the top and pull down repeating to cover.  Do this with the lightest ink pad and repeat with the medium and dark.

Here are all my pieces laid out so you can see how I assembled my basket.
I just colored and cut up my chick eggs for the unhatched eggs in the basket.

My Cup Runneth Over

My Cup Runneth Over
by Bunny Vance

These tea cups are just so fun and I love how my card came out bright and cheery.
Here is a trick on cutting the Banner with a rounded top to match!  I first cut the banner colored it and then placed the Polka Dot Die where I wanted it, taped it in place, then put the bottom of the banner on TOP of the die so it wouldn't be cut.  That way we have a layer to match our circles and give this card a unique design.
Thanks for stopping by today!  Enjoy your weekend!
